Whether you’re in need of financial assistance or a parenting coordinator, we are big advocates for bringing in the experts when you can’t do it alone. Divorce can be a complicated process, but we’re here to break the mold. There are a number of different issues to consider, and these professionals are the best of the best. The divorce process can be calmer, through compassion and collaboration. We’re here to help you through it.

Experienced Divorce Attorneys at Your Service

Your UnHitchUs lawyer is an experienced family lawyer licensed in the state of Iowa or Minnesota. Our lawyers typically charge $200-$400 per hour in their private practices, but they are made available through UnHitchUs at a steeply reduced rate. When you sign up for our online divorce program, there is an included 60-minute virtual consultation with your lawyer prior to our sending you the final divorce documents.

If you need to talk to your lawyer after you have signed on and paid your first installment with questions as you are navigating the platform, the divorce guide can set up a time for you to have a brief phone call or virtual appointment.

We can also provide referrals to our mediators, financial and child specialists if requested, or if we feel those experts could be helpful to you.

Online Mediation Makes Sense

UnHitchUs has identified qualified and compassionate mediators who can assist you and your spouse in working through disagreements that are “bumps in the road” to your divorce. Our virtual mediation process will efficiently help you work through any issues holding you back from finalizing your divorce. Please discuss with your UnHitchUs lawyer if you think this would be helpful. However, keep in mind your UnHitchUs divorce lawyer is also a trained divorce mediator so they can often help resolve issues.

What is a mediator?

A mediator is a neutral third party who is not on either person’s “side” but instead works to make sure you are both heard and understood as you work to find agreement. Our mediators are also experienced family-law professionals, so they are used to working with couples in conflict. They can meet with you virtually for as many sessions of mediation as you may require, and in that process, they can assist you with filling out the forms on the UnHitchUs platform. Hourly fees are set by the mediators.

Who needs them? Please discuss with your UnHitchUs attorney whether a mediator could benefit your process.

Finances can bring about a lot of tension and emotions, but by preparing for what you will need post-divorce, you can alleviate a lot of the frustration. We will set you up with highly trained financial professionals who can help you embark on this new chapter with your most informed and prosperous foot forward if you and your UnHitchUs attorney determine this expertise is needed or helpful.

Being a Parent Isn’t Easy, but Parenting Coordinators Help

Who are they?

Parenting coordinators come to the aid of parents who have conflict and tension. Whether they cannot communicate or cannot make decisions pertaining to their children, parents navigating the post-divorce process may benefit from a parenting coordinator.

Who needs them?

Parenting coordinators may help with issues relating to parenting schedules, care providers for children, child-rearing disputes such as bedtimes or diet, healthcare management, and religious observances or education — just to name a few. Often, they can help with de-escalating parental conflict to which the children are exposed, resolving issues in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and ultimately, coach the parents on better ways to communicate about the children. Virtual parenting coordinators are often helpful after the divorce is final to assist with “bumps in the road” once the divorce is final.Feel free to discuss this option with your UnHitchUs attorney.
