HOW IS UNHITCHUS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ONLINE DIVORCE OPTIONS?
UnHitchUs is an online platform developed and supported by real Iowa and Minnesota lawyers. This means you are hiring a lawyer to represent you but you are able to do it comfortably from your own home without having to make appointments to go to a lawyer’s office. You also fill out the information that is needed without having to pay a lawyer or their paralegal to do so. It’s a way to save money and have convenience.
Be careful when choosing online divorce in Iowa or Minnesota. The internet has lots of people who will charge you money just to send you forms. Some of the forms are fee and others are so complicated you have no idea how to fill them out. Very few if any are connected to a real Iowa or Minnesota divorce lawyer.
WHAT IF WE WANT TO DO MEDIATION?
Mediation works best if you have narrowed down the issues that you can’t agree upon. Because you get a virtual consultation with your lawyer, s(he) can often give you options that resolve issues or clarify steps that meet your needs and your spouse’s. If there is still disagreement we can refer you to a mediator who can meet with you virtually or in person for a reduced rate. Often Mediation of your divorce is not needed.
HOW DO WE GET THE DIVORCE SIGNED BY THE JUDGE?
Your lawyer handles submitting the documents to the court. After your consultation all your documents will be in your in-box for signature. Then you scan and send back and your lawyer takes it from there?
